According to the Express today we have turned down a loan request for Mike from Castleford to wanted to ease their injury woes. (Apparently they now want G Horne from Hudds). Is this the right move to keep our players away from helping out our rivals, or would a few super league games under his belt have been beneficial for both the player and us as a club ?

Personally, wouldn't object to him getting some game time elsewhere seeing as we are having a fairly injury free run at the moment.

The problem with a loan deal is that you cant call them back for the first month.

So if we did get a few injuries, we might need him to play.

However I dont think him playing in the under 20's would do him any good, he is too big and strong for that level (same with Moa and Washbrook) a dual registration with a NL1 club, could be the way forward for Hull, as they could call them back when needed. Again it could be argued that Burnett etc are too good for the national leagues and need to be playing SL.

I dont know what the answer is, peronally I would have let him go to Cas for a month, think we have enough cover in the backrow to take the risk.

Entirely possible.

To be honest, I can't think of any other reason not to let him go. It'd certainly benefit him to get some regular game time. It's not like we're short of second row cover.

Fair enough if he has turned them down to fight for his place here.

I think Burnett will play plenty of games this season for Hull.

If one of our back rowers gets injured he'll be in the 17. Loan deals are for fringe players not your 1st chocie back up

Would get easter out the way before loaning any players out.

thats my thoughts mate, we have a tough run coming up and lose one or 2 and he'd be in there rather than us having to play others and shuffle

Wll need the full squad for the easter period 3 games in 9 days against rovers,wire and leeds with leeds again the week after says keep the squad here IMO

Burnett will be playing a huge role this season imo. A loan deal would be an option though and it's nice to see our players been approached by SL clubs rather than NL1 clubs. Shows our greater depth.
