Really disappointing performance. I wasn't expecting a win but was hoping we'd make a game of it. At least we won't have to play them again - unless we have a heroic run to the play offs.
Crazy that we now regularly have games lasting two hours.
Obviously it wasn't the most exciting game from our perspective, but there was times during the second half when I almost started nodding off with all the stoppages! The average game is now consisting of two 50-plus minute halves, throw in the extended half-time and every game is now drifting over the two hour mark. On afternoons like today, the game can feel endless!
Do you remember midweek games in the 70s and 80s? 7.30pm kick off, ten minutes half time. All over by 9 o'clock!
I sure do! Funnily enough I made precisely that same point to my mate, think it was during the four hours it took for Thaler to make up his mind about the Miski 'try'!!
I know times change, but it has become ridiculous. As you say, back in the day it would literally take us 90 minutes from kick-off to full-time, and that was most weeks as well.
Change isn't always for the better I feel, and it's not just a case of us old-timers banging on about the 'old days'!!!
