Saints signed Deon Cross from Salford
Saints are classless. We haven't all got billionaire owners with £30k stashed down the sofa. The same Saints that have loaned them Vaughan for the season? Yeah really classless. Also there is a lot more to it as Salford owe Saints ticket money. I guarantee had Radlinski got a Salford player on a free in the same way you would be calling it a great piece of negotiating. We've simply taken advantage of Salford treating their players appallingly (lets not forget these lads have mortgages to pay like everyone) and saved ourselves £30k in the process. Unless of course you feel that we should've donated £30k out of pity? We lost £2m last year so we aren't exactly flush with cash either. Still classless mate. The only reason Vaughan is at Salford is due to a fall out with the club. Saints aren’t paying his wages. The move for Cross was manipulated, full stop. As for Wigan, we have loaned them more than one player. I am not sure what Wigan has to do with this argument and if they had acted in such an underhand way then I would have criticised them as well. Salford need supporting, this is a time when the rugby community should come together and support one of its own. As for Saints finances if Salford owe them money then they should take the appropriate action either through the RFL or legally. I fear that you will see another big financial loss this year, as will most of not every team, does that mean you will be sneaking around next year and unsettling players? Maybe McManus, Beaumont and Wood have an hidden agenda. We will suffer another big loss yeah. We don't have a billionaire owner. I doubt you would be making the same comments pre-Danson when Wigan were skint. In relation to Cross, we initially agreed a fee with them (the week when we named a 20 man squad) however Salford came back wanting more money hence the impasse. Re Vaughan, we could've just played him in the Reserves all year, we didn't need to loan him out. I brought Wigan into it because you are a Wigan fan having a pop at Saints that's all. It’s got nothing to do with me being a Wigan fan, I’m coming at this as a RL fan who has the game at heart. I would have criticised any side who had done the same. To be fair to the likes of Leeds, Warrington and the mighty Castleford they have stumped up transfer fees. If Vaughan had been playing in Saints reserves you would have been paying his wages which you are not under the loan arrangement. Hence the reason it was agreed.
Regarding Saints agreeing a fee with Salford I don’t know where you have heard that from but it is not true. The Saints powerbrokers got really excited when they were able to announce to their fans that they had signed him for free. My view was that it was done simply to quell the unrest in the club, again just another example of their lack of class. We did because we named a 20 man squad fully expecting Cross to come in. Indeed his name was on a list submitted to the RFL (not divulging how I know this) and then it fell through when they wanted more money. Also us signing Cross on a free has done little to quell any unrest at all. That's clearly a d**k measuring contest between the clubs especially given John Davidson's report that they still owe us money.

| I wouldn't be surprised if it's Douglas who has decided to move on. He needs to play doesn't he, so regardless of it being his or the clubs decision, I think it's the right one for him. He's just turned 21 and will be 22 early in to 2026 and if he wants to kick on, he needs games in the top flight and they're just not coming here. I say that but then I probably wouldn't suggest Saints would be a wise move either. He'll be behind Feldt and Murphy at the very least. A move to somewhere like Leigh, Cas or a newly promoted club (surely there will be one) would seem a better fit but who knows.

| Might just be one of those bad timing situations with Douglas, Marshall and Miski aren't getting any younger and are probably on their last contracts, if Douglas was 12/18 months younger he could probably afford to hang around, early 20's though he needs to be playing somewhere.

I think I know who told you that but the offer you are talking about never materialised according to my Salford connection. I suppose we will never know the truth. What we do know is that the move was jointly engineered by Saints and Cross. Personally, I wouldn’t want either watching my back.

| Chris Atkin signed for Cas, struggling to see how Salford are going to finish the season at this rate.
