His two problems are he is a quota player and on (allegedly) a large contract. We have to get our overseas quota down to 5 by 2011 which means not renewing some overseas player's contracts when they expire.
Him getting a deal may depend on the number and quality of IL's overseas signings and their cost in relation to the SC.
With the form of Hock & Lockers improving by the game and our abundance of back rowers then it does appear Phil Bailey may be in his last season with us.
A good solid player but perhaps not one that will improve the team next year in a way that will take us forward.

Mossop , Tomkins , Hansen all look better prospects , Bailey has been solid and reliable - not what we want from a well paid aussie

For next year i'd be looking at us starting with-

11-Hock
12-J Tomkins
13-O'Loughlin

with a sub place for-

Mossop/Flanagan/Farrell

without a massive improvment in his own game i wouldn't be able to find a place for Hansen either. He offers us hard working defence but little to nothing in attack and hasn't moved his game on one bit in the however many years he's been in the first team.

Six figure wage surely.

Yeah with Mossop looking good I don't see the point of keeping him with him being a quota player.

No deal, for reasons already mentioned, plus the backrow doesn't have enough yards in it when him, Hansen and O'Loughlin are the back 3, which puts extra pressure on the forwards, which are already pretty poor.
